ABA league rosters
ABA League will be very exciting this season. Crvena Zvezda is defending the title and Partizan has great ambitions. Buducnost and Cedevita Olimpija are always unpleasant there. We bring you the list of reinforcements of all teams in the ABA league 2021/22.
Crvena Zvezda MTS Beograd
The defending champion entered this season with a drastically changed lineup. This summer Austin Hollins(8.2 pts), Nikola Ivanovic(7.0 pts, 3.6 assists), Nikola Kalinic(10.4 pts, 3.4 rebounds), Stefan Lazarevic(10.9 pts, 5.1 rebounds), Luka Mitrovic(2.7 pts), Aaron White(7.3 pts, 4.0 rebounds), Maik Zirbes(5.8 pts, 4.0 rebounds) and Nate Wolters( 7.1 pts, 43.3 % three-point shooting) arrived at the club. The defending champion entered this season with a drastically changed lineup. Dejan Radonjic returned to the club last season. He will lead the team from the bench this season as well.
Partizan NIS
Partizan has the highest goals this season. Former European champion from 1992 wants to return to the Euroleague after a long break. After almost three decades, the team is again led by Zeljko Obradovic. Like Red Star, Partizan also brought a lot of players this summer. Alen Smailagic (2.0 pts) and Rodions Kurucs (6.0 pts) returned from the NBA. Dallas Moore (27.4 pts, 5.7 assists) came from China. Kevin Punter (14.3 pts) and Zach LeDay (10.0 pts, 4.5 rebounds) came from last year’s finalist for the Euroleague, Olimpia Milano. Among the reinforcements are Aleksa Avramovic (16.4 pts, 3.5 assists), Yam Madar (17.1 pts, 40.9% three-point shooting). The young super talented Slovenian player Gregor Glas (18 pts, 4.0 rebounds) also came.
Buducnost Voli
As for the current vice-champion of the ABA league, Vladimir Micov (6.1 pts) has returned to the club. Marko Jagodic Kuridza (4.4 pts) and DJ Seeley (8.1 pts) are coming from two Euroleague teams, Red Star and Bayern. Edin Atic (10.2 pts, 4.4 rebounds), Jacob Wiley (10.6 pts, 6.0 rebounds) and Igor Drobnjak (12.6 pts, 4.6 rebounds) are also arriving in Podgorica. The club will again be led by Aleksandar Dzikic.
Cedevita Olimpija
The team from Ljubljana is again aiming for a high ranking. That is why a lot of players arrived at the Slovenian club this summer. Jacob Pullen (17.7 pts, 42.5% three-point shooting) came to Ljubljana again. Melvin Ejim (11.5 pts, 5.8 rebounds) and Marko Radovanovic (6.4 pts), and Jackie Carmichael (8.4 pts, 3.8 rebounds) are also coming from the other teams from ABA League. Two more Americans Zach Auguste (4.6 pts) and Marcus Keene (20.0 pts, 5.0 assists) came to the club. Like last season, the team is led by Jurica Golemac.
Borac Cacak
Borac managed to ensure his survival in the league last season. This year, he will want to make much better results. Ilija Djokovic (6.4 pts) returned to Cacak. Sava Lesic (10.0 pts 4.5 rebounds) and Marko Pecarski (9.0 pts, 4.0 rebounds) arrived from FMP. Bojan Tomasevic (14.0 pts, 6.0 rebounds) and Ivan Marinkovic (2.4 pts) also arrived from the home players. Lautaro Lopez (17.5 pts, 7.2 rebounds) came from Slovakia. The team from Cacak, like last season, is led by Marko Marinovic.
Cibona Zagreb
Cibona has a young and talented team again. The ambitions of the club are not too big, but it is certain that the club from Zagreb will want to be better placed than in previous seasons. Several foreign players came to the club. Jose Vildoza arrived from Argentina (14.8 pts, 4.2 rebounds). Nathan Reuvers (8.2 pts, 3.2 rebounds) came from the University of Wisconsin. Amar Gegic (14.2 pts, 5.2 rebounds), Antonio Vrankovic (6.5 pts, 4.4 rebounds), and Ivan Majcunic (8.7 pts) also arrived. The club, like last season, is coached by Vladimir Jovanovic.
FMP Beograd
The development team of the Red Star has been playing in this competition for years. The goal of this team is to expel as many players for the mentioned team from the Euroleague. Bryce Jones (13.1 pts, 4.6 assists) and Nenad Nerandzic (8.3 pts, 4.7 assists) were brought from Borac. Garrett Nevels (15.6 pts, 4.8 rebounds) arrived from foreign players. Marko Pavicevic (12.8 pts, 5.3 rebounds), Stefan Lakic (14.0 pts, 6.2 rebounds), and Danilo Tasic (18.0 pts, 8.8 rebounds) were brought in from the home players. The coach is Nenad Stefanovic.
Igokea
Igokea reached the playoffs last season. This season, the team from BiH will try again to be better placed. Three Americans were brought in. DeShawn Stephens (15.0 pts, 7.0 rebounds), Markel Stars (11.2 pts, 3.8 rebounds), and James Robinson (10.9 pts, 4.8 assists) arrived at the club. Aleksa Radanov (4.0 pts) arrived from Crvena Zvezda. Nikola Tanaskovic (17.8 pts, 8.2 rebounds) and Stefan Djordjevic (7.6 pts, 4.4 rebounds) were also brought. The team from the bench is led by Dragan Bajic.
Krka Novo Mesto
As for this Slovenian team, the American Hasahn French (9.6 pts, 7.3 rebounds) arrived at the club. The rest are mostly home players. Jakov Stipanicev (5.5 pts, 3.5 rebounds), Andrej Stavrov (15.6 pts, 4.3 rebounds), Jure Špan (12.8 pts, 4.9 assists), Jurij Macura (10.0 pts, 3.5 rebounds) were brought. Marko Arapovic also came (2.6 pts). The team is coached by Dalibor Damjanovic.
Mega Basket
Mega is another team with a lot of talent that often knocks out players in the NBA draft, of which Nikola Jokic was certainly the most famous. Alexander Balcerowski (5.5 pts), Samson Ruzhentsev (2.0 pts) and Matej Rudan (8.3 pts, 3.3 rebounds) joined the team from Belgrade from abroad. From the home players came Nikola Kocovic (10.4 pts), Mladen Vujic (4.0 pts). The coach is the same as last season, Vladimir Jovanovic.
Mornar Bar
Unlike previous seasons, the team from Montenegro did not hire a large number of foreigners. Two Americans arrived at the club: Corey Davis Jr. (13.4 pts, 3 assists) and Trey Lewis (13.9 pts). Strahinja Micovic returned to the club (13.7 pts, 3.8 rebounds). Gligorije Rakocevic (9.9 pts, 6.9 rebounds), Milija Mikovic (19.3 pts, 6.75 rebounds), Vladimir Mihailovic (19.3 pts) were also brought. The club is still led by Mihailo Pavicevic.
SC Derby
The mentioned team from Montenegro is a new member of the ABA league. The lineup hasn’t changed much from last season. This team is the development team of Buducnost. Justin Edwards (12.1 pts, 4.4 rebounds), Kyle Vinales (14.7 pts, 4.2 rebounds), Boris Tisma (2.0 pts), and Kenan Kamenjas (15.7 pts, 8.9 rebounds) arrived at the club this summer. The coach of this team is Andrej Zakelj.
Split
As for Split, this team was strengthened with several players in order to ensure survival in the league. Americans Shawn Jones (8.8 pts, 6.0 rebounds) and Tre McLean (10.5 pts, 4.6 rebounds) arrived in the city in Dalmatia. Nejc Baric (8.7 pts, 4.2 rebounds), Karlo Zganec (7.8 pts, 6.5 rebounds), and Tonko Vuko (6.3 pts, 3.5 rebounds) also arrived. The coach is Srdjan Subotic.
Zadar
Like other clubs from Croatia, Zadar does not have too high ambitions. The main goal is to survive in the league. Not many players came to Zadar this summer. Three players were brought in. Uros Lukovic (7.0 pts, 3.5 rebounds), Dario Dreznjak (6.25 pts), Kevon Harris (3.0 pts) arrived at the club. The coach is Ivan Perincic.
