Monaco vs Alba Berlin: ALBA came very close to snapping an enormous skid but Elie Okobo happened.

With two seconds remaining in the game between AS Monaco and ALBA Berlin, Elie Okobo got rid of Maodo Lo’s defense and dropped his opponent on the floor with a nasty dribble to beat the buzzer from the 3-point line and hand his team an 92 – 89 win.

Thanks to Okobo’s bucket, Monaco bounced back from the home loss to Barcelona and went up 10 – 4 in the standings. ALBA, that almost achieved a huge upset, is now 3-11 after suffering its 11th straight defeat.

Alpha Diallo led Monaco overall with a season-high 20 points plus four assists. Jaron Blossongame dropped 16 points, Donta Hall and Donatas Motiejunas contributed 10 points apiece, Okobo scored 12 while Mike James finished with eight points, seven assists and seven rebounds.

Tim Schneider (15 points), Johannes Thiemman (14 points, six rebounds), Ben Lammers (14 points, six rebounds) and Tamir Blatt (14 points, five assists) scored in double figures for ALBA. The German side was down 77 – 67 early in the fourth quarter but erased that margin quickly to go up 79 – 80 with five minutes to play.

Monaco retook the lead and Donta Hall put the hosts ahead 89 – 86 with a 1:01 remaining. Ben Lammers tied the score at 89 before Okobo’s decisive play.

Virtus Bologna vs Maccabi Tel Aviv: The Israeli team couldn’t end its Italian EuroLeague double week on a high note

Thanks to a late fourth-quarter 21-13 run, Virtus Bologna managed to come out with the 78-73 victory against Maccabi Tel Aviv, finding the second EuroLeague win in a row.

Milos Teodosic put the home crowd on fire, scoring 15 points and dishing 6 assists, while Daniel Hackett added the same amount of points, tying for the highest black-and-white scorer of the night.

Tornike Shengelia didn’t have his best game until the last ten minutes when he stepped up on the offensive end. The Georgian big ended the game with 12 points and 8/8 FT.

Lorenzo Brown was once again magical for the yellow-and-blue team, producing a losing effort of 18 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists against his national team coach Sergio Scariolo.

Josh Nebo had his first double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Bonzie Colson added 10 points and 6 rebounds.

Jalen Adams and Jarell Martin’s foul issues caused problems for the away team since both had four in the third quarter. Moreover, an unsportsmanlike foul called on John DiBartolomeo cut Maccabi‘s legs in the last seconds of the game.

Before the game, Virtus Bologna and the home crowd paid tribute to Sinisa Mihajlovic, who passed away earlier in the afternoon at 53 after fighting leukemia for several years.

Sergio Scariolo didn’t have Semi Ojeleye, who will miss four weeks of action after suffering an injury on the road against Olympiacos, Awudu Abass, who is recovering from a knee injury, and Jordan Mickey, who was a victim of a left shoulder contusion during the win against ALBA Berlin.

Oded Kattash, on the other side, didn’t have Alex Poythress, who may be out for the rest of the season due to a hand injury, and Wade Baldwin IV, who suffered a hamstring strain against Valencia in Round 12.

In Round 15, Maccabi Tel Aviv (7-7) will once again play on the road, visiting ALBA in Berlin on December 22 at 20:00 CET. Virtus Bologna (6-8) will travel to Vitoria to face Baskonia on the same day at 20:30 CET.

Still, the hosts got the 74-68 win and tied Fenerbahce BEKO on the top of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague standings with a 10-4 record.

Jan Vesely with 15 points, Nikola Mirotic with 14, and Tomas Satoransky with 13 led a balanced offensive effort, while Dwayne Bacon finished the game with 19 points for Panathinaikos after scoring just four in the first half. Giorgos Papagiannis paired 13 points with nine rebounds.

Barcelona started the game by putting on a show, leading by 16 (28-12) at the end of the first period. Panathinaikos didn’t give up and made it an 8-point game in the third (47-39) period.

Partizan vs Anadolu Efes: Partizan Mozzart Bet snaps a five-game losing streak at the expense of the reigning back-to-back Turkish Airlines EuroLeague champions

Dealing with the eruption of Rodrigue Beaubois and buzzer beaters to end both the second and third quarters, Partizan Mozzart Bet dug its way out of a double-digit hole to defeat Anadolu Efes, 82-79, Friday.

James Nunnally tucked in a huge three-pointer for a four-point lead with 15 seconds left and followed up by sinking a couple of free throws with 11.1 seconds remaining in the back-and-forth Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season Round 14 affair. Pouring 12 points in the fourth quarter, he shared a team-high 18 points with Dante Exum and Kevin Punter.

Both teams were coming off a loss at the top end of the double-game week. Ataman’s side initially came back from an early seven-point deficit but eventually fell to 7-7. Beaubois scoring a EuroLeague personal-best 30 points was not enough. Ante Zizic logged a season-high 20 points but his former Maccabi teammate Nunnally made the difference in crunch time. Vasilije Micic was slowed down by an ankle injury in the first quarter and finished with 14 points behind 4/14 field goals.

Packing a double-digit PIR in all games of the EuroLeague season so far, Mathias Lessort extended the streak with 13 points and five rebounds highlighting the PIR of 15. Tallying 11 of his points after the break, the French center fueled the comeback and ignited the crowd.

Baskonia vs Fenerbahce: Baskonia managed to get a big win in Istanbul pushing Fenerbahce to a tie at the top of the standings

Maik Kotsar and Matt Costello added 10 points each, while Steve Enoch in his fourth game after his return to action scored nine.

The guests started the game with a 21-13 first quarter, led by 19 at halftime (52-33), and while Fenerbahce twice made it a four-point game (60-56, 74-70) couldn’t complete a comeback.

Once more the hosts didn’t have Scottie Wilbekin and Jonathan Motley available. Marko Guduric with 14 points was the top scorer of the losing side, while Nick Calathes had a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds.

Baskonia is now tied in the second place of the standings with a 9-5 record with Real Marid and Olympiacos, just one win away from Fenerbahce (10-4).
